There are two distinct sections of the museum, Maori Culture and War.  The Museum even goes by two names.  This post is about the Maori Culture and New Zealand history section of the museum.

Two Maoris, old man and a woman about my age, were talking about this storehouse when I arrived.  He was speaking to her about this type of building from personal experience.  Cool!

Te Toki a Tapiri is the last of the great Maori was canoes.  It was built around 1836. It is 25 meters long and can hold 100 warriors.
