10/30 St Marys Cranks & Tinkerers Museum, St Marys, Australia

October 30, 2014
St Mary's, Australia

We met the owner, Ian Summers.  He was a teacher for thirty years and is now able to be a tinkerer full time in his retirement.

American camera from 1880's.  He has no idea how it ended up in Australia.

He has been collecting all his life and has so much old stuff:  phonographs, cameras, comic books, books, cars, boats and all sorts of models.

Top is a model of the first Wright Brothers plane which was destroyed by a starling that got into the building.  He is in the process of rebuilding to.

The DeHavelind bomber flying over the Sydney Bridge, 1940s.  This is the same bridge I climbed in Sydney on this trip :)

Lunch outside after the museum.

Pic-nic areas with tables, BBQ and toilets are available in every town we visited in Australia, no matter how small.
