10/28 Launceston, Tasmania

October 28, 2014
Launceston, Tasmania

Our flight arrived in the afternoon and it was a simply beautiful day!

As we were landing I looked down on the rugged country with such beautiful water and open land and it reminded me of Nova Scotia.  The size of the airplane and the small airport terminal were also similar.

This is our hotel, The Sebel Launceston.  It's hard to see behind the trees, but it's a very nice building.  It has clean lines and green glass balconies.

We took a walking tour and there are great old buildings everywhere!
The Custom House is about two blocks from our hotel.

This artwork is right across the street from the Custom House.

I loved all the historic buildings, as you can see by the following photos :)

In the downtown area, they have retained the historic facades on the upper levels and converted the lower levels to every imaginable type of store.
