Windsor to Penrith to Katoomba, Australia - To See the Three Sisters

September 15, 2014

Set off early in the car to Windsor.

There is an amazing amount of history in Windsor.

Everywhere we turned, there were buildings built in the 1800s!

Nice pedestrian mall

Bridge Cafe located on the right of the photo

We had Breakfast at the Bridge Cafe in Windsor.  Russ had a fizzy energy drink and I had a huge capaccino while our breakfast was cooking.

Across the street is the oldest hotel in Australia, Macquarie Arms Hotel.  It was all locked up, so I could not see the interior.

Chatted with Councillor Christine Paine

Turned out that her brother sold our motel owner, Young Ken, his first horse!

We signed a petition which was against the building of a new bridge which would destroy the historic square.

Hopped back in the car and drove to the train station.

Drove to Penrith Train Station to pick up the commuter train to Katoomba at noon.  We passed lots of small towns and stations on the way.  I could have spent a day in any one of the towns, they all seemed to have so much character with lots of quirky buildings.

Arrival in Katoomba :)
All the stations have so much character!
