Train
Our train was scheduled for a 7:30am departure and we arrived an hour early.
I took this photo on Tuesday when we were checking out the best path to take to the train, since our departure was so early.
Our train was delayed and we didn't depart Sydney until 10:00am, 2 1/2 hours late.
We tried to photograph the flamingos, but between the train moving and the glare on the glass, we didn't get a very flattering shot.

I enjoyed chatting with the guys that worked in the buffet car. I ordered a chicken schnitzel and they said that in a good restaurant schnitzel is a really great meal, but unfortunately, what I was going to have was a heated up frozen meal...for my second meal I ordered pasta, which is a safer frozen food choice.
The scenery was truly incredible, with acres and acres of bright yellow canola and bright green wheat. It was impossible to avoid the reflection of the train glass in the photos, so I haven't included any photos of the sheep, horses or cows and there were plenty! I'll wait to take sheep photos in New Zealand.

We arrived at the Southern Cross train station in Melbourne quite late, around 9:30pm. Originally we planned to transfer to a commuter train to continue on to Sandringham. Due to the very late arrival, Malcolm picked us up. What a lifesaver! He gave us a tour on his way home, but it was all a blur to me. Zzzzzzzz
