Our Hosts in Sandringham, Australia

September 18, 2014
Sandringham, Australia

Our wonderful hosts, Lyndall and Malcolm, making dinner.

The original plan was for dinner last night, but our train was sooooo late, that they put it off for a night.  If it was my last night of packing before a monthlong holiday, I would have cancelled.  But, they are a very hospitable couple (Lyndall has a million coasters and placemats) so dinner was on :)

We had lamb on the barbie, oven baked vegetables and a beautiful big green salad full of tastey veges.  When Malcolm brought in some lemon grass from their kitchen garden, I knew I was in heaven :)

The meal was topped off with good red wine poured thru the aerator (sp?).  We'll definitely buy one of these when we get home.

We chatted about pups, politics, religion, food, and anything else that came to mind.  They had so many suggestions about locations to see and places to eat, that we will never have time for them all.  Enjoying coffee and tea shops seems to be a large part of Australian life.

It was late and surprisingly I was still awake, but they needed to complete their packing.  They had a 4:30 am wake up call for a very early flight.

So it was time to say goodnight :)
