It's the day before we leave!

Cupcakes - A New Tradition
Good Morning Dad,

I see you are back on email by your response to my evite - hooray!  I realize it was crazy to send out a Christmas Party invitation in August, but I just felt more comfortable doing it on my home desktop computer.  Now, I can check one more thing off my to-do list :)

I packed both of our checked bags yesterday, so we are almost ready to go.  I even arranged for an airport shuttle from our hotel to pick us up when we arrive in Bali on Wednesday.  I found the hotel thru hotels.com but the internet site did not include an email address.  So, Russ said "call hotels.com and ask".  I did and got a phone number and an email address.  The internet is amazing!

Wow - due to the deadline of "going away" Russ has gotten so many things done that have been put off forever.  Yesterday he fixed the master bath vanity, replaced the missing tile on the kitchen counter and installed the missing doors on the kitchen cabinets.  Whew.

Russ had a "how to blog appointment" with Gina mid-morning, but due to his long house to-do list, he said I should learn how to blog.......so.....Gina spent a few hours teaching me how to do a blog on my home computer.  It will be easy, once all the kinks are worked out...but right now I can't make the photos download on Russ's iPad.  Gina has an amazing blog about her dog Oscar.  I may just stick to facebook.  We'll see.

We met our Habitat buddies at Flannigan's for late lunch yesterday.  Holiday started a new "cupcake bon voyage" tradition.  She brought us two yummy chocolate cupcakes topped with plastic flamingos.  We'll bring the flamingos with us and photograph them along the way on our journey.  Sort of like "Flat Stanley".

The Traveling Flamingos

Time to make coffee and get going on tying up a million loose ends before we leave.
I love you!
ML :)

Thank your ma for teaching me how to blog! It's 2 months into our trip and I just discovered "comments". This is NOT a reflection on the teacher or hopefully the student. It's more of an "equipment issue".

  3. I'll always write the date on my posts, as the blog is published in USA time and I am running on Australian time :)
