Bapang Barong - this is an overture before the dance troupe presents the main performance.
The "Barong Monster" is operated by two men, one for the head and another for the tail.
I have no idea what this new character is. I think he's a monkey, but there was a second character later on that looked like a monkey too.
The story is taken from the great epic Mahabarata.
Two brothers who were kings both wanted to rule the universe.
The people feared the kings' plan to conquer their paradise, so they sent the most beautiful angel, Nilotama, to entice the kings.
This is some serious enticing!
It was fun to watch the orchestra watching the dance.

DeleteI'd have to read the book...honestly, I didn't know half of what was going on and there was not a lot of translation going on. Thank goodness it was always beautiful to watch!
